New years parties are those where resolutions are often made. Why not resolve to be green and throw an environmentally friendly party to show it?

Tip #1 – E-Vites

Make your invitations by word of mouth rather than by post. If you must send an invite, use recycled paper for the invite and the envelope. Use an online social site for sending invitations to friends. Email is safe and efficient.

Tip #2 – Use Eco-Friendly Products

Search your local suppliers for drinks and snacks that are produced using eco friendly processes. Popular drinks like beer and soda can be found with green suppliers. Only buy bottles of bubbly that are organically produced and sealed with genuine cork.

Don’t forget the designated drivers; always offer a choice of alcohol free drinks. If you are going to be providing more than snacks, search out your local organic farmers and buy from them. You’ll probably find the products not only tastier but cheaper too. Don’t waste heat trying to keep food warm over a long period. Provide food that can be eaten at room temperature. Bread and cakes can be bought from bakers who only use flour ground from organic grains.

Tip #3 Use Recycled Paper Products

Use recycled paper products for your table cloth, serviettes and all other tissues that you will need.

Forget the plastic glasses and paper plates. If you don’t have enough proper glassware and crockery, rent or borrow what you need. It makes much more ecological sense than buying plastic that is going to be in our land fills for centuries. With new eco friendly cool use washing up liquids it doesn’t take long to wash up and you won’t be burning electricity while you do it.

Tip #4 – Indoor Fireworks

Instead of wasting money on fireworks that are only going to pollute the air and litter the neighborhood, why not investigate the new developments in indoor fireworks? See how brilliantly colored shapes and sprays can be created with a little paper and some water.

Tip #5 – Natural Candles

Cozy lighting is always a must at new years parties so why not buy some natural candles. Bees wax and soy oil candles are smokeless and burn with a warm yellow light while filling the air with natural aromas.

Tip #6 – Give Green Gifts

If you are going to be giving guests a gift, stick with the green theme. Look for suitable recycled objects, plants or even a little seed cultivation set.

Tip #7 – Recylce Garbage

Provide your guests with trahs bins clearly labeled for recyclable materials and make sure that they know where they are.

Tip #8 – Public Transportation

If you live in an area well serviced with public transport, why not let your guests know when you pass on the invite? If special services are being laid on for the holiday night your guests might be pleased of the chance to be driven and not have to worry about who will drive home while helping to keep the air clean.
