Be Out There – theĀ National Wildlife Federation’s initiative to inspire families across America to open the door and get outside! A daily dose of the outdoors improves children’s physical, mental and emotional well-being.

This generation could become the first to grow up isolated from nature. A recent Kaiser Family Foundation study found that kids spend, on average, more than six hours per day with electronic media. The antidote for gamer’s eye and texter’s thumb is right outside the door, where neighborhood nature offers sights, sounds, even smells, to engage and recharge all of a child’s senses.

Teach your children to enjoy their world. Take a visit to the bush with your family, or go camping for a weekend. When you leave only leave your footprint not your rubbish.
