Barbara Walmsley was chosen as the face of Oxfam’s green- granny campaign, as part of their climate change program to educate people about being less wasteful.

Brought up by a widowed mother on a pension during World War II, thrift was an attribute acquired the hard way. “We didn’t ever waste food because rationing was so strict,” Barbara says.

BARBARA Walmsley is an unlikely YouTube hit, but the 71-year-old “green granny” from Berkshire, England, has struck a chord in testing times by passing down her money-saving wisdom.
