Spooky stories, campfire songs, stargazing, s’mores — is there a reason not to love camping? (Well, except for the poison ivy and long road trip to get there.) With The Great American Backyard Campout tomorrow, Saturday, June 26th, you don’t have to drive anywhere or do deep-woods hiking to enjoy these pleasures; the idea is to camp out in the comfort of your backyard, neighborhood park, or (if you’re a city dweller) your balcony.
If you camp out back this weekend, you and your kids will be joining thousands of others across the nation for the sixth annual Campout. You can also register your camp and raise funds for the National Wildlife Federation while you’re at it. Here’s what else we dig about pitchin’ tents:
