Litter bins: In Manchester we have approximately 3000 litter bins in the city centre and it’s wards. Our litter bins are of different types and different sizes depending on where they are located.

Our Street Scene Services officers constantly patrol the streets ensuring that the bins are emptied and available for use.

Manchester City Council is responsible for installing, maintaining and emptying street litter bins within its boundaries. We will look at requests from the public for additional litter bins to be placed in areas where litter is a regular problem.
