Established in 1989, the National Bird-Feeding Society (NBFS) helps make the backyard bird feeding and watching hobby better – for people and wild birds. The NBFS accomplishes its mission by connecting hobbyists with education and research about backyard bird feeding.

The, NBFS, is proud to host and sponsor “National Bird-Feeding Month.” This national event was created to advance and publicize the wild bird feeding and watching hobby every month of the year. Each February, they introduce and promote a new and unique theme.

The  theme for 2010 is “Hatching Out – An Introduction to the Wild Bird Feeding Hobby.”

The NBFS introduces you to the joy of wild bird feeding by surveying basic techniques to create a successful wild bird feeding and watching experience. To join millions of other wild bird feeding hobbyists you just need a bird feeder, bird seed and a place from which to watch your birds. Next steps to enhance your experience include adding a variety of bird feeders, novel foods and binoculars to view your feathered friends.

In the links below, join NBFS as they journey together into the wonderful hobby of backyard wild bird feeding.
