Your Trash, My Treasure.

treasureWe all produce too much waste. We recycle a great deal but more can be done to reduce the amount of waste we produce. If you can’t prevent waste, you can try to get the most out of it by reusing items or giving them to someone else that can reuse them.

Reuse means using items as many times as possible, which helps to save resources.

Donation/selling:  If you donate or sell items you are disposing of to charity, Ebay or Free 2 Collect, the receiver doesn’t have to purchase a new item and your item does not end up in a landfill site.

Repair and Refurbish: You can prolong the life of any item by getting it refurbished or repaired. This means you can postpone disposal.

Sharing:  You can reduce waste by not purchasing items in the first place and instead rent or share either through sharing clubs (such as the library) or hire centres.
